Primary Responsibilities:

The Webmaster will be responsible for the development, installation, operation and maintenance of the Major Subordinate Commands (MSC) of I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) websites and web-based software for the Marine Corps.

The Webmaster will be the go-to source for information posting and maintenance and must be able to develop tools that simplify web postings, to include managing information access and interaction in the form of Sharepoint. The Webmaster must understand and apply appropriate database technology to solve emerging user needs. They must also interface with the MEF G6 and other sections to solve common problems such as website unavailability. The Webmaster must also be able to incorporate new technology, when required.

As this opportunity is in direct support of the Department of Defense, an active DOD clearance, or the ability to qualify, will be required. The successful candidate will also need to be prepared to forward deploy with the Marines.

Essential Attributes:

• Minimum of five years experience with Windows NT, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server and Microsoft Share Point Portal Service.
• Knowledge of the .NET environment, Java 2 Enterprise Edition and PKI authentication.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of the following computer languages: Java, HTML, Visual Basic, Java Script, C++ and / or C#.
• Be able to understand and develop SQL queries.
• Ability to script in DOS and UNIX and possess command line knowledge with DOS and UNIX OSs.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all levels within the organization with tact and diplomacy.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a team oriented environment and to contribute and participate in organizational activities and meetings using a team approach to problem solving and decision making.
• Ability to remain calm in potentially stressful situations; flexibility and a willingness to adapt to change; well developed organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently, with limited (to no) supervision.
• A BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• US citizenship.

Desirable Attributes:

• A Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD).
• Training certificate in Microsoft Office Share Point Server 2007.
• Understanding of Command to control PC (C2PC) software and ability to interface C2PC products with web-based technology.
• Understanding of the MEF/MSC organization for combat and in garrison.

The Webmasters will be based on-site at either Camp Pendleton or MCAS Miramar and must be willing to forward deploy with the Marines. These are exempt, full-time, W2 positions (NOT contracting).
